The Flour Bluff / Padre Island Coastal Cotillion hosted The Presentation Ball for 2024-2025 season February 1st, 2025 at the Emerald Beach – Downtown Corpus Christi. The senior girls from the Flour Bluff / Padre Island area participated in a night of formal introductions amidst lighted elegance, personalized table decorations, and dinner and dancing with family and friends.
The debutantes for the 2024-2025 Miss Kayliana Marie Chapa, Miss Ireland Shea Cowan, Miss Alaina May Featherby, Miss Kaelin Avery Lott, Miss Addison Riley Zepeda, Miss Aava Marie Mostaghasi, Miss Riley Elizabeth Vicha.
The Cotillion season began with the Mother / Daughter Afternoon Delight and ended with the Presentation Ball. Monthly meetings prepared the young ladies with skills that were applied during the formal event and will be utilized after graduation and in the workplace or college. The traditional “twirl” on the dance floor by the debutantes is an annual Presentation Ball event along with the Father / Daughter dance, introduction curtsy, ROTC sword ceremony, and the presentation of the mothers, presenters, and escorts. All the debutantes were required to wear formal white gowns with uniform accessories and makeup to accent the overall elegant presentation of the young ladies.
The master of ceremonies was Dr. Sal Alvarado, administrator with the Flour Bluff School District. The formal sword ceremony was performed by the award-winning Navy Junior ROTC from Flour Bluff High School. The photographer for the evening was Mr. Stephan Noack. Entertainment and music were provided by Mystique Entertainment with DJ Zarron. There were over 200 participants of family members and friends in attendance at the formal Presentation Ball.
The Coastal Cotillion is an organization to educate and enlighten the young women in the Flour Bluff / Padre Island and London community about social and educational opportunities available to them as they move through their post-graduation training or college endeavors and move toward individual professional careers. They were provided social development through guest speakers, workshops, and social functions to develop personal skills as they approach adulthood. The Coastal Cotillion is open to any high school senior girl living in the Flour Bluff, Padre Island or London area.
The 2024-2025 Coastal Cotillion committee members were: Mrs. Flo East, senior advisor, Ms. Susan Lawson, Dr. Elly Soler, and Mrs. Roberta Soward, Mrs. Trudy Luce.
